Back for today

Right before I decided to restart this blog, I spent 20 minutes twisting my hair and looking at some low resolution Indian wedding pic on Facebook. Despite a bonus round of ADHD medication, which will keep me awake until 3am, I still can't pay attention in class.

An older lady in class, who also can't pay attention but wants the rest of us to see more than just homemade caftans, always prefaces her comments with "what I didnt understand..."

Another student, a fascinating international student with straight black hair pink framed glasses, has no idea what's going on in class. She is tootling away on her laptop which is in a completely different language and sending txt messages with only characters and no words. The sleeves on her sweater are detachable and every time she leans forward it's as though she's in a special holiday installment of Fame!

Last week when I couldn't pay attention, I noticed my dream engagement ring on a former colleague whom I deleted from my Facebook this summer. While I found myself rather productive eliminating superficial acquaintances-- she was getting the Rock of Gibraltar delivered to her tan little hands.

All this to say I thought blogging might be a better use of my time.

I went back to FB to look up the girl with the ring. I was hoping that there might be some public photos of how the ring was delivered, alas some people are modest (?). I can't re-friend her though because it goes against everything I deleted her for in the first place. Besides I think she would know it was only to be nosy since I spent the better half of the semester not "recognizing" her.

that is all.

Mirrors

Not the horror movie...

Then nightmare of my new Zumba class. So the new location is at the Y downtown by the capital. When I first thought about it being in Lansing, I didnt think i was going to make it. Turns out its nice scenary and for some reason the people at this Y just seem happier. I psycho analyzed that because of the location they are all busy working professionals, ppl that think they are important and thinking your important is half the battle. self-importance = bliss and such is the Downtown Y. Its actually called the Downtown Wellness Center (said in haughty accent with crossed legs, martini and throw pillows).

So im totally feeling the vibe, free water and freshly laundered towels handed over the counter when you sign in. Clean, smiles and spandex- totally the place to be at 5:30.

And then

I get to the top of the stairs an see the "studio on the left..." MIRRORS!!!! Huge freshly cleaned mirrors and fluorescent lights. In the center of the room on each side are two square mirrored pilars. Finally, this is what hell looks like. I can hardly focus because im plagued with issues I never had in previous non-mirroed Zumba classes like, how the fuck did I even get in these pants, whose body is that, is this just from mini snickers, am I on both sides of the instructor??!?!

Im trying to go with the flow. Its a new class with the same instructor so I unlike the rest of the class know all the routines already and appear to be a zumbabot. I cant help but notice bouncy (the instructor) doesnt look as happy and isnt giving away as many free smiles as she usually does. At the end of class she suggests that she might turn the class sideways because of all the mirrors. Thanks bounce.

In other news, I made my 5% weight watchers club goal, which is nice since its almost time for me to set sail.

I packed the original dress test dress, so here is another for progress sake. This dress is kinda blah but you get the point.

Disaster

Pretty much sums up my Valentines day weekend as far as food is considered. GD is it 8:30am? Huhhh Monday.

Any way it started on Friday when I decided to get a sandwich from the deli because I was FS. (f*$% starved) and I felt like hell its Friday I will go to the gym Saturday and Sunday. But let me tell you what bad food does, it makes you feel comfortable, like a warm blanket. You just want to wrap up in it and forget the world outside. Food is Love. Which is why decided to go ahead and spend my Valentines weekend with it. I cannot tell you explicit details of the love that was made in #5 Holiday Drive; just know that the earth moved.

Meanwhile, im bitter. thinking about the snack one of my male coworkers had. One of those dairy fresh DUTCH chocolate milk, a large individual bag of salt and vinegar chips and an egg salad sandwich from Spartys. A MF SNACK. He often pretends he wants to eat healthier so I took the opportunity to point out to him that the milk (which he thought was only 210 calories) was actually 420 since it was two servings. The chips 310 and the sandwich ***unknown**. Who can afford to eat in the **unknown**. You know foods that have no nutrition facts. Its like living on the edge. This "snack" was pushing at least 1000 calories and yet, he was unmoved.

Which is why i'm bitter. Only boys can throw caution to the wind like this. Eating in the unknown, trying whatever new tripple sak stack advertised by a fast food chain. It's just not fair. Why do we have to bleed, bare children, have 20 different hormones and be most susceptible to fat?

Can we get a break?

Man Yogurt

The title of this post is exactly why I dont eat yogurt. But thanks to anonymous for posting that hint (adding flax seed to fiber one yogurt). I also discovered after a 3 day attempt at the Activia Challenge that I do have a lactose intolerance. While everyone else is shitting their life down the bowl, I am constipated. I was so disappointed because I dont actually need Activia. I just thought it would be like tasty 3-berry detox.

In other news, Epic Fail this weekend. I reverted back to some of my old ways under the stress of moving. I know you are shocked because you think I'm perfect, and your right. But even perfect ppl make mistakes. My mistakes included, but where not limited too: Fries, a breaded cod fillet with cheese from Wendys, A sub. 2 Potato Skins. Wings and a bowl full of double noodle soup. ALL within an hour of one another!!!

Ok not really. But still whoaaa. Sometimes I just get on the scale because I know ive been bad and I need a reality check. Or because its night time and I just want to feel like I lost 3lbs over night. Any way when I saw despite moving and carrying myself up and down the stairs all weekend my friends the pounds were back. Then an imaginary force pulled back the reigns like I was horse.

Im back on track...

tids and bits

SW: 247.8
CW: 230 (although my morning scale said 228.6, which I prefer).

The WW meeting today was good. I planned on using today as my off day from the gym but i'm just gonna go head and go. I would like to get to the point where I feel guilty for not going to the gym like I used to. Since im moving I havent really cooked anything and ive been eating cheerios and Activia. Which I was really excited about until I discovered Activia doesnt even have fiber in it, on top of that its got 19 carbs in this lil baby cup. What the fuck to that.
